The EU*Asia Institute and the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) in Brussels worked together to present you short and accessible video interviews on European policy issues
The idea behind this project is simple. We have approached young Europeans and came up with 5 questions pertinent to them. We invited Members of the European Parliament and their political parties to answer the same 5 questions. With these answers, we have produced 5 videos: one for each question. These mini-interviews will help show the difference between the parties on each issue and will help young European voters and the wider public to make a choice.
POPULISM & NATIONALISM
Members of the European Parliament are debating how the European Union should respond to populism and nationalist tendencies in Europe.
MIGRATION
There are different opinions from Members of the European Parliament related to migration. Who should take action, the European Union or its member states?
FUTURE OF THE EU
While Brexit is yet to be resolved, Members of the European Parliament discuss whether Europe needs more or less integration in the future.
CLIMATE CHANGE
With a consensus on the importance to address climate change and energy independence, Members of the European Parliament share their viewpoint on how to implement climate change mitigation policies step by step.
YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES
Analysing the underlying reasons for youth unemployment, Members of the European Parliament are differing on how the European Union should proceed to solve the issue on a practical level.
We contacted as well the EEP Group and ALDE Group. Unfortunately, no interview could be arranged.
