Donald Trump’s decision to leave the Paris accord on climate change, as well as his protectionist trade agenda and repeated attacks on both Germany and China, have necessarily had an impact on the relations between these two global economic powers. The recent visit of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to Germany and to Brussels gave evidence to the need of closer cooperation in various fields.

On 31st May, Maximilian Rech, programme director at the ESSCA Shanghai campus, was invited to speak on the Chinese Global Television Network on these issues.
