We are delighted to announce that Pamela Barnes, Research Fellow at ESSCA’s EU*Asia Institute, has been awarded the prestigious UACES Lifetime Achievement Award 2024. The award, which she shares with her husband and colleague Ian Barnes, recognises her outstanding contributions to the field of European studies.

For the EU*Asia Institute, Pamela Barnes is currently actively involved in the main publication outlet of the Jean Monnet Chair TRES. Together with Thomas Hoerber, Director of the EU*Asia Institute, she is section editor of the Routledge Online Resources for European Studies. This editorial work is an integral part of the Jean Monnet Chair TRES, which focuses on the promotion of research and teaching in European Studies.

The UACES Lifetime Achievement Award, together with Pamela’s recent work at the Institute, underlines her long-standing commitment to promoting research that informs policy and advances European integration. This award is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication and impact on the field.
