The European Green Deal marks a milestone on the EU’s path to attaining the Paris climate change and sustainability goals and become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. To this end, the EU needs partners worldwide. As the largest and most dynamic growth region, the Asia-Pacific region is pivotal in efforts to accelerate the shift towards resource-efficient and environmentally friendly economic and growth models.

This final report presents the main findings of the two-year research project 'The European Green Deal - Perspectives for the EU-Asia Relationship' supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. It was presented to an international audience in Brussels during the workshop 'Decarbonisation Strategies in Asia' on 1 and 2 December 2022.

The study examines sustainability approaches and initiatives in Japan, China, India and Singapore, their perceptions of the EU Green Deal and potential areas for cooperation with the EU.
